The amount and rate of administration must be judged by the veterinarian in relation to the condition being treated and the clinical response of the animal, being careful to avoid overhydration. When used as a solvent or diluent for pharmaceuticals and biologicals, follow manufacturer's directions.

Using aseptic procedures, administer slowly by intravenous injection. Inject carefully to avoid deposition outside of the vein. The usual dose is 30 mg per pound of body weight (15 mL/100 lb). May be repeated at weekly intervals, if necessary.
