Dosage:

Add to ration (protein, grain, or salt mix) in proportions to provide 10 mg per head per day.

Protein Mix: Add 1/2 lb per ton of protein mix and feed at a rate of not more than 2 lbs of mix per head per day.

Grain Mix: Add 1 oz per ton of grain and feed at a rate of not more than 16 lbs of mix per head per day.

Salt Mix: Add 1 lb per 130 lbs of feeding salt and feed 1 oz of mix per head per day.

DOSAGE:

Horses: Adminsiter 2-3 oz (60-90 mL) orally every 2 hours or as needed for gastric reflux.

Dogs: Administer 1-2 teaspoons (5-10 mL) orally every 4-6 hours (antacid).

Administer 1-3 teaspoons (15-50 mL) orally once daily (laxative).

EACH TEASPOON CONTAINS:

Magnesium hydroxide 400 mg (80 mg/mL)

Blood thyroid hormone levels should be monitored every 2-4 weeks following initial dose suitable for the individual patient. Tablets may be administered orally or pladced in food.

The suggested initial dose is 0.5 to 3.0 mg levothyroxine sodium (T-4) per 100 lbs of body weight (1 to 6 mg per 100 kg) once per day or in divided doses. Response to the administration of ThyroKare Powder should be evaluated clinically until an adequate maintenance dose is established. In most horses, the total daily dose of T-4 is in the range of 6 to 36 mg. Serum T-3 and T-4 values can vary greatly among inidividual horses on thyroid supplementation. Dosages should be individualized and animals should be monitored daily for clinical signs of hyperthyroidism or hypersensitivity.

Administration:

ThyroKare Powder can be administered by mixing the daily dose in the concentrate or by top dressing on the grain, preferably rolled or ground. To facilitate the proper adhesion of ThyroKare Powder to the ration, slightly moisten the grain with water or a liquid supplement.
