There is intersubject variation in the pharmacokinetics, clinical efficacy, and incidence of side effects with SORIATANE. A number of the more common side effects are dose-related. Individualization of dosage is required to achieve sufficient therapeutic response while minimizing side effects. Therapy with SORIATANE should be initiated at 25 to 50 mg per day, given as a single dose with the main meal. Maintenance doses of 25 to 50 mg per day may be given dependent upon an individual patient’s response to initial treatment. Relapses may be treated as outlined for initial therapy.

When SORIATANE is used with phototherapy, the prescriber should decrease the phototherapy dose, dependent on the patient’s individual response (see PRECAUTIONS: General).

Females who have taken TEGISON (etretinate) must continue to follow the contraceptive recommendations for TEGISON. TEGISON is no longer marketed in the US; for information, call Stiefel at 1-888-784-3335 (1-888-STIEFEL).

Information for Pharmacists:

SORIATANE must only be dispensed in no more than a monthly supply. A SORIATANE Medication Guide must be given to the patient each time SORIATANE is dispensed, as required by law.

OLUX-E Foam is not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.

Apply a thin layer of OLUX-E Foam to the affected area(s) twice daily, morning and evening for up to 2 consecutive weeks; therapy should be discontinued when control has been achieved. The maximum weekly dose should not exceed 50 g or an amount greater than 21 capfuls per week. For proper dispensing of foam, shake the can, hold it upside down, and depress the actuator. Dispense a small amount of foam (about a capful) and gently massage the medication into the affected areas (excluding the face, groin, and axillae) until the foam is absorbed. Avoid contact with the eyes.
Olux

Note: For proper dispensing of foam, hold the can upside down and depress the actuator.

Olux Foam should be applied to the affected area twice daily, once in the morning and once at night. Invert the can and dispense a small amount of Olux Foam (up to a maximum of a golf-ball-size dollop or one and a half capfuls) into the cap of the can, onto a saucer or other cool surface, or to the lesion, taking care to avoid contact with the eyes. Dispensing directly onto hands is not recommended (unless the hands are the affected area), as the foam will begin to melt immediately upon contact with warm skin. When applying Olux Foam to a hair-bearing area, move the hair away from the affected area so that the foam can be applied to each affected area. Pick up small amounts with fingertips and gently massage into affected area until the foam disappears. Repeat until entire affected area is treated.

Apply the smallest amount possible that sufficiently covers the affected area(s). No more than one and a half capfuls of foam should be used at each application. Do not apply to face or intertriginous areas.

Olux Foam is a super-high-potency topical corticosteroid; therefore, treatment should be limited to 2 consecutive weeks and amounts greater than 50 g/week should not be used. Use in pediatric patients under 12 years of age is not recommended.

Unless directed by a physician, Olux Foam should not be used with occlusive dressings.

EVOCLIN Foam is for topical use only, and not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.

Apply EVOCLIN Foam once daily to affected areas after the skin is washed with mild soap and allowed to fully dry. Use enough to cover the entire affected area.

If there has been no improvement after 6 to 8 weeks or if the condition becomes worse, treatment should be discontinued.

The contents of EVOCLIN Foam are flammable; avoid fire, flame and/or smoking during and immediately following application.

Note: For proper dispensing of foam, can must be inverted.

For application to the scalp invert can and dispense a small amount of Luxíq onto a saucer or other cool surface. Do not dispense directly onto hands as foam will begin to melt immediately upon contact with warm skin. Pick up small amounts of foam with fingers and gently massage into affected area until foam disappears. Repeat until entire affected scalp area is treated. Apply twice daily, once in the morning and once at night.

As with other corticosteroids, therapy should be discontinued when control is achieved. If no improvement is seen within 2 weeks, reassessment of the diagnosis may be necessary.

Luxíq should not be used with occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician.
Fabior

FABIOR Foam is for topical use only. FABIOR Foam is not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.

FABIOR Foam should be applied once daily in the evening after washing with a mild cleanser and fully drying the affected area. Dispense a small amount of foam into the palm of the hand. Using fingertips, apply only enough foam to lightly cover the entire affected areas of the face and/or upper trunk with a thin layer; gently massage the foam into the skin until the foam disappears. Avoid the eyes, lips, and mucous membranes. Wash hands after application.

Patients may use moisturizer as needed.

If undue irritation (redness, peeling, or discomfort) occurs, patients should reduce frequency of application or temporarily interrupt treatment. Treatment may be resumed once irritation subsides. Treatment should be discontinued if irritation persists.

• using warm water, wash the affected area for 1 to 2 minutes • rinse well and pat dry with a clean towel • because too much drying of the skin may occur, start with 1 application daily, then gradually increase to 2 or 3 times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor • if bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day • If going outside, apply sunscreen after using this product. If irritation or sensitivity develops, stop use of both products and ask a doctor.

VELTIN Gel should be applied once daily in the evening, gently rubbing the medication to lightly cover the entire affected area. Approximately a pea-sized amount will be needed for each application. Avoid the eyes, lips, and mucous membranes.

VELTIN Gel is not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.

Apply a thin layer of SORILUX Foam twice daily to the affected areas and rub in gently and completely. Avoid contact with the face and eyes.

Apply a thin layer of DUAC Gel to the face once daily, in the evening or as directed by the physician. The skin should be gently washed, rinsed with warm water, and patted dry before applying DUAC Gel. Avoid the eyes, mouth, lips, mucous membranes, or areas of broken skin.

DUAC Gel is not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.
