Sodium Sulfacetamide

Sodium Sulfacetamide

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Cutaneous Bacterial Infection - Gently apply 10% Sodium Sulfacetamide Medicated Pads to the affected areas 1 to 2 times daily or as directed by a physician until the infection has cleared.

Seborrheic dermatitis - Gently apply 10% Sodium Sulfacetamide Medicated Pads to the skin or scalp 1 to 2 times daily or as directed by a physician.

Dispense in accordance with applicable state law. This product has not been approved by the FDA, is not listed in the Orange Book, and has not been approved or rated for therapeutic equivalence with any other product.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Seborrheic dermatitis including seborrhea sicca - Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% Wash: Wash affected areas twice daily (morning and evening), or as directed by your physician. Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes. Wet skin and liberally apply to areas to be cleansed, massage gently into skin working into a full lather, rinse thoroughly/pat dry and repeat after 10-20 seconds. Rinsing with plain water will remove any excess medication. Repeat application as described for eight to ten days. If skin dryness occurs it may be controlled by rinsing cleanser off sooner or using less frequently. Regular shampooing following Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% Wash is not necessary, but the hair should be shampooed at least once a week. As the condition subsides, the interval between applications may be lengthened. Applications once or twice weekly or every other week may prevent recurrence. Should the condition recur after stopping therapy, the application of Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% Wash should be reinitiated as at the beginning of treatment.

Secondary cutaneous bacterial infections - Wet skin and liberally apply to areas to be cleansed, massage gently into skin for 10-20 seconds working into a full lather, rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Rinsing with plain water will remove any excess medication. Repeat application as described for eight to ten days. If skin dryness occurs it may be controlled by rinsing cleanser off sooner or using less often.

DOSAGE AND ADMINSTRATION: Apply Urea Cream 45% to damaged nail tissue or affected skin area(s) twice a day or as directed by a physician.
Salicylic Acid

The preferable method of use is to apply SA 6% thoroughly to the affected area and to cover the treated area at night after washing and before retiring. Preferably, the skin should be hydrated for a least five minutes prior to application. The medication is washed off in the morning and if excessive drying and/or irritation is observed, a bland cream or lotion may be applied. Once clearing is apparent, the occasional use of SA 6% will usually maintain the remission. In those areas where occlusion is difficult or impossible, application may be made more frequently; hydration by wet packs or baths prior to application apparently enhances the effect. (See WARNINGS.) Unless hands are being treated, hands should be rinsed thoroughly after application. Excessive repeated application of SA 6% will not necessarily increase its therapeutic benefit, but could result in increased local intolerance and systemic adverse effects such as salicylism.

Apply 6% Salicylic Acid Gel thoroughly to the affected area and cover the area at night. Preferably, the skin should be soaked in water for at least five minutes prior to application. Wash medication off in the morning. In those areas where occlusion is difficult or impossible, more frequent application may be necessary. Once clearing is apparent, occasional use of 6% Salicylic Acid Gel will usually help maintain the remission. Hands should be rinsed thoroughly after application, unless hands are being treated.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Apply Urea Topical Suspension 50% to affected skin twice per day, or as directed by a physician. Rub in until completely absorbed.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Use this product as directed, and regularly, to achieve maximum benefit. Follow all directions on the product package and prescription label. If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Apply to the affected areas of the skin/nails, twice a day or as directed by your doctor. Rub in well until absorbed. As the product dries, the level of urea increases as the level of moisture decreases, allowing some of the urea to crystallize (white color). The product will work properly whether or not the urea can be seen on the surface. Wash hands after applying unless you are treating the hands.

Methimazole

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Methimazole is administered orally. The total daily dosage is usually given in 3 divided doses at approximately 8-hour intervals.

Adult - The initial daily dosage is 15 mg for mild hyperthyroidism, 30 to 40 mg for moderately severe hyperthyroidism, and 60 mg for severe hyperthyroidism, divided into 3 doses at 8-hour intervals. The maintenance dosage is 5 to 15 mg daily.

Pediatric - Initially, the daily dosage is 0.4 mg/kg of body weight divided into 3 doses and given at 8-hour intervals. The maintenance dosage is approximately 1/2 of the initial dose.
